The report reviews the nature and philosophy of the comprehensive humanitarian relief provided by Jordan, both officially and publicly, to the Gaza Strip and its residents during the war. Such initiatives came as a result of the dire living conditions they endured under the Israeli genocidal war against them since October 7, 2023.
The report aims to highlight the primary motivations for this relief among the Jordanian government and people, as well as its impact in supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people. The relief addresses the repercussions of the brutal Israeli war against them.
Jordanian relief project aims to decrease the hardships and inhumane suffering of the Palestinian people, as well as to confront the Israeli objectives and measures aimed at forcing Palestinians to leave their homeland as part of a process of forced displacement and ethnic cleansing (transfer).
The report aims to address all aspects of humanitarian relief, encompassing health and nutritional needs, as well as securing daily necessities such as food, water, and clothing.
The report found that these Jordanian relief efforts accounted for 30-45% of the Arab and international efforts supporting the Gazans, including food, medical aid, building bakeries, and assisting the medical team in Jordanian hospitals in Gaza, as well as other forms of relief and support.
The report also noted that Jordan received various financial and in-kind donations from international, governmental, and non-governmental organizations, following Jordan's efforts to encourage such contributions, as well as from the people of Jordan and their charitable institutions.
The Hashemite Charity Commission, the Jordanian Armed Forces, Jordanian civil society organizations, chambers of commerce and industry, political forces, and most Jordanian tribes all united to provide this continuous support.
These contributions included building and operating field hospitals, coordinating airdrops, implementing medical campaigns, and supplying the sector with all possible living necessities through relief convoys of thousands of trucks. The magnitude of these efforts, evaluated by some resources, reached almost 1.25 billion JD.
The report concludes that Jordanian relief efforts were distinguished by their comprehensive scope in two respects: first, by the participation of all official Jordanian state institutions, the private sector, and Jordanian society; and second, by their targeting of most of the health, medical, food, shelter, and clothing needs of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. Relief mechanisms were diverse, including both land and air convoys, ensuring a thorough and comprehensive aid delivery.
