This study provides a comprehensive understanding of how the Arab world can achieve international status and role by recognizing the nature of regional relations and their transformations. It also investigates the mechanisms for addressing them by capitalizing on opportunities and overcoming challenges.
The study poses two fundamental questions: The first is, What are the strategic options available to Arab countries in dealing with regional powers such as Iran, Turkey, Israel, and Ethiopia, as well as sub-Saharan Africa, given the existing policies of these powers? The second question addresses how the Arab world can benefit from cultural intersections with Iran, Turkey, and, to some extent, Ethiopia, thereby enhancing its international status and role.
The study employs role theory as a methodological framework for analysis, aiming to understand the dynamics of variables and the influence of active actors in the Arab region, particularly in light of the evolving roles of major regional powers, including Turkey, Iran, Israel, and Ethiopia.
The study offers a comprehensive analysis of the evolving dynamics of national and regional security in the Arab world, including political stability, economic resilience, military strength, and social and cultural cohesion. It assesses the extent to which these dynamics and transformations can lead to significant changes in national and regional security frameworks, which could, in turn, shift the balance of power in favor of strengthening the Arab world's regional and international standing and role. Arab leaders can achieve Such prospects by developing good neighborly policies and adopting a civilizational perspective in their dealings with these countries.
The study concludes that regional transformations have had a direct impact on the security, influence, and status of the Arab world. The result of these impacts encouraged direct interference by both Iran and Turkey in the Arab arena, a blatant Israeli attack on Arab security, and a fundamental shift in Ethiopia's behavior regarding Arab water security.
Furthermore, the divergent positions of the official Arab regime on various domestic and foreign issues have contributed to the decline of its regional and international standing and role.
