This report presents the overall results of the elections for the twentieth Jordanian House of Representatives, which took place on September 10, 2024. This election was conducted under the modified election law for the first time.
The report examines these results' impact on modernizing the political system in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. It highlights the significance of the political party lists (national lists) in the pursuit of establishing a partisan parliament.
The report concludes that the 2024 elections marked an important step toward achieving a stable democratic transition towards parliamentary governance. However, the success of this phase depends on all parties taking national responsibility and demonstrating a commitment to making this parliament a success story. While there is potential for success, the public will evaluate this stage of democratization in the next elections in 2028.
